PERFECTING OUR BEST-EVER SHOW
With less than a fortnight to go until we kick-off our summer tour, Urban Soul Orchestra, DJ Goldierocks and London Community Gospel Choir, conducted by Stephen Hussey, gathered in a London music studio last week to perfect the iconic house tracks we’ll be performing.
“If our rehearsals are anything to go by, Classic Ibiza this year is going to blow everyone away,” said Lisa Ward who owns and promotes the show. “Because we’ve upped the orchestra to 45 musicians and extended the number of tracks featuring LCGC’s incredible vocals, the symphonic wall-of-sound coming from the stage will be on a whole new level. Even the ‘crowd favourite’ tracks, that we know everyone love, have so much more depth – it’s like hearing them for the very first time.”
USO will be performing more tracks than ever before this summer, including eight new orchestrations. Lisa Ward adds, “All the new tracks that we’re performing this year sound amazing, but for me there’s one absolute stand out. The strings and horns on Todd Terry’s iconic Something Goin’ On are so epic and lush – talk about kicking off the dance set in style!”
The other new tracks being performed are Eple (Röyksopp), Release The Pressure (Leftfield), Hey Hey (Dennis Ferrer), Greece 2000 (Three Drives), On The Beach (YORK), Flaming June (BT) and Losing It (FISHER). New remixed versions of Insomnia (Faithless) and Sandstorm (Darude) also feature.
This year’s extended five-and-a-half-hour programme also includes a new chill-out set and fresh performances by Classic Ibiza debutant, DJ Meera. Here are the full concert timings:

- 17:30: Arrival Lounge Set with DJ Meera
- 18:45: Chill-Out Set with USO & DJ Meera
- 19:30: Party-Starter Set with DJ Meera
- 20:00: Ghost Ship Sundowner Set with USO, conducted by Stephen Hussey, DJ Goldierocks & LCGC
- 21:00: Deep House Set with DJ Goldierocks
- 21:30: Dance Set with USO, conducted by Stephen Hussey, DJ Goldierocks & LCGC
- 23:00: Concert finishes
